Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026 · Applies to FootyMate on both iOS and Android.

This Privacy Policy describes how the FootyMate application ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use it on your iOS or Android device. By using the App you agree to this policy.

Overview

FootyMate is designed with privacy in mind. The App does not require you to create an account, does not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information, and does not track you across apps or websites. All data the App stores is kept locally on your device, except for the subscription information described in the Third-Party Services section below.

Information We Do Not Collect

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The following preferences and data are stored only on your device using your platform's standard local storage: app preferences, and a local database (Realm on iOS, Room on Android). This data never leaves your device except as described in the Third-Party Services section below.

Device Permissions

The App requests only the permissions it needs to function:

No other permission is asked of you. Beyond calendar and notifications, the App declares only the ordinary permissions it needs to run — network access, and on Android the ability to schedule an alarm for a reminder and to restore scheduled reminders after the device restarts. None of these grant access to personal information.

On Android, the App also switches off Android's automatic cloud backup, so your FootyMate data is not copied into your Google Account.

Third-Party Services

API-Football (api-sports.io)
The App fetches publicly available football data (fixtures, standings, lineups, statistics) from API-Football, and loads league and club badges from the same provider's media hosting. Requests sent to this service contain only league, season, and team identifiers — no personal information about you is included. As with any web request, the provider will see the network address the request came from. Please review API-Football's privacy policy for details on how they handle API requests.

Google Search (iPhone and iPad only)
On iOS, tapping a player's name on the lineup screen opens a Google Search results page for that player inside the App, in a standard in-app web view. Only the player's name is sent as the search term. That page is Google's, not ours: while it is open, Google receives the request the same way it would in a browser, and Google's privacy policy applies to it. Nothing about you is attached to the search by FootyMate, and closing the view ends the session. The Android version of the App does not include this feature.

RevenueCat
The App uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and validate purchase entitlements through the App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat receives an anonymised customer identifier and subscription status from Apple StoreKit or Google Play Billing — it does not receive your Apple ID, your Google Account details, your name, or your payment details. Please review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy for full details.

Apple and Google
In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple or by Google Play Billing, depending on your platform. FootyMate does not see or store your payment information. Apple's and Google's own privacy policies (Apple, Google) apply to those transactions and to the distribution and installation of the App.

Deleting Your Data

You can erase all locally stored App data at any time through Settings → Reset App Data inside FootyMate. This removes all preferences, cached football data, scheduled notifications, and the FootyMate calendar from your device. Uninstalling the App also removes it, and on Android you can clear it from Settings → Apps → FootyMate → Storage. Because no data is stored on our servers, there is nothing further for us to delete.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13, and no personal information is collected from any user.

Your Rights (EEA / UK)

If you are based in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR including the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold about you. Because FootyMate collects no personal data and stores all App data locally on your device, there is nothing held by us to access or erase. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us using the details below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the App after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
